Welcome to TheFierySerpent.com. This platform is born out of a deep and abiding amazement at God’s grace, even in the midst of judgment and human failing.
Our Inspiration
The heart of our mission is found in the journey of the Israelites through the wilderness. As recorded in the book of Numbers, the people of Israel began to speak against both God and Moses. In response to their persistent complaining, the Bible tells us:
“And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.” (Numbers 21:6)
A Symbol of Grace
While the serpents were a consequence of sin, God immediately provided a path to healing that required nothing but a look of faith. He instructed Moses with a unique command that serves as a powerful shadow of the redemption found later in Christ:
“And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.” (Numbers 21:8)
Our Mission
We believe that just as the Israelites were saved by looking toward the provision God set before them, we too find life by looking toward His grace. We are here to explore that grace—the kind that meets us in our lowest moments, our loudest complaints, and our deepest “bites,” offering life to all who behold it.
Statement of Faith
- The Scripture: We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
- The Nature of God: We believe in one God who is the Creator of all things and full of sovereign grace.
- Human Need: We acknowledge that all have turned against God and are in need of His mercy and healing.
- The Provision of Life: We believe that just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of Man was lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should have eternal life.
- The Response of Faith: We believe salvation and restoration come through looking to God’s provided means of grace with a heart of faith.
